Hooray! My Wedding Dress Just Came In!

Friday, August 28th, 2009 at 1:54pm

So, I just got the call from Solutions Bridal and MY DRESS IS IN!

Okay… so I know we are 8 months out but I can’t help but be excited to see the real thing in person. The dress I will be wearing when I marry my knight in shining armor, Mr. Knight♥.

I know the dress is going to be a little big (maybe a lot). I’m a pear-shaped girl… so just one size doesn’t categorize my body.  I’m more of a size 4 top, size 8 bottom, type of girl (and that’s what Mr. Knight loves so much). But that made it a little difficult ordering the dress (since a portion is form fitting), so I may not be able to see the whole look until the dress is altered.

Now here is my question for ya’ll….

Do I wait till right before the wedding to get the dress altered? Or do I do it now (and possibly have it taken in minor-ly before the wedding)?

I’m not sure what to do! I want to see how it is going to fit… but I don’t want to be hasty in altering it so fast (with the possibility of me gaining {gulp} or losing weight before then).

I need some advice ladies!!!

OMG I’m getting in my car to drive to Gainesville right now!!! Haha. Wait until about 6-8 weeks before the wedding. There is no point in taking it in twice and paying for it twice… It is WAY too soon for that, girlfriend. Now you wil have the luxury of having it to hold up accessories and shoes to.

I agree with Emily, I would wait a bit.

How exciting! I don’t think I’d be able to restrain myself from prancing around the house in it weekly!

M dress was a snug fit on my wedding day which was a little scary but even so, I think I made the right decision to have it altered 6 months before my wedding. This is why… it did help me make a conscious effort to stay fit for 6 months leading up to my wedding, and helped me remember not just eat when I was stressed. So it can go both ways really. Good luck!!

I picked up the dress and it is absolutely beautiful and more amazing then I remembered. I fell in love with my dress all over again. And the best part? It weighs virtually nothing! No wedding dress to hold me down on our Wedding day. :-)
