Mackenzie Grein ♥ In The Arms of Angels

So much has happened this week, good and sad. Probably, the fact that so much has happened this week, is why I’ve been avoiding blogging. I had my Bridal Shower (it was a blast!) and Mr. Knight had his PaintBall game with the guys, we also picked up a ton of stuff from IKEA for the wedding, and I had my hair trial at the Veranda Pampering Salon. But, the one thing that has clouded and left us all heart broken this week, has been the loss of Sweet Bridesmaid’s best friend, Mackenzie.

I struggled with whether I should write this post or not, but I feel that Mackenzie was such a big part of Mr. Knight’s life (and my own), his family’s life, and especially Sweet Bridesmaid’s life, that I couldn’t not write about her passing.

This is one of my favorite photos of Mackenzie. Taken by Mr. Knight. :-)

You will be greatly missed Mackenzie. You have made such a big impact on my life, and so many others. I can never forget your laugh, the fact that you could find just about anything funny, and that smile (I’m sure Sweet Bridesmaid could insert about a gazillion things here). I loved watching you dance in recitals with Sweet Bridesmaid, and hearing about you beating Mr. Knight at Risk (Mr. Knight is very competitive and rarely looses a board game). As Knight Dad has said, please watch over Sweet Bridesmaid, your family, and the rest of us. We all love you so much and know that you are smiling down on all of us from heaven. You will always hold a special place in my heart. Until we meet again. ♥♥♥

Sweet Bridesmaid made a sweet (you can see where she gets her nickname) Facebook group in memory of Mackenzie. You all should check it out. It is packed with tons of beautiful photos of Mackenzie (about 90% of them with little Sweet Bridesmaid) and funny videos that really exemplify the amazing (and funny) person Mackenzie was.

  1. I can’t believe she’s gone. Honestly, in a way, it doesn’t even really feel real yet. But, at the same time, I’m emotionally drained from the past 24 hours. I think it’ll hit me again at our wedding when she won’t be there.

It’s so sad, she was like a sister to me… ;-(

Mackenzie will always be with us. Mr. Knight is right… she was family. We all hope we can be as inspirational and positive as Mackenzie was every single day of her life. We all loved her dearly and will miss her tremendously. For everyone, make every day count, tell those you love that you love them…. tell them today.

It is so hard to believe she is really gone…My heart is so broken and I don’t think I will ever be the same again. We are all gonna miss her so much that I don’t think there is a word to describe how we all feel. I know that ‘Fig’ is looking down on us and I know that she will be at your wedding Mr. Knight, in spirit only, but she will be there and she will have that beautiful smile on her face that lit up any room she walked into. As Knight Dad says, we MUST tell each other how much we love each other and never, ever take anyone for granted as life is so very fragile. I love you Gator Bride, Mr. Knight and Knight Dad :-)
