  • FCPX Wedding Color Grade | Before & After

The Resort at Longboat Key Club Beach Wedding Video

Kyle did an incredible job with this color correction. I still can’t get over how amazing it looks compared to the “before” footage!

Danny and Erika’s day was pretty overcast and cloudy. We were LOVING the even lighting, but achieving the correct white balance became next to impossible in the late evening as the sun went down (and we lost whatever small light we had). Our cameras simply couldn’t compensate for the very blue lighting.

That being said – it’s so important to us that our couple’s film accurately represents not just how it looks but how it FELT on their day. Even though it was a bit of a cloudy, wintery day in Florida… it FELT warm and sunny. Which is why Kyle chose to take the color grade in that direction.

I can’t even begin to tell you how many hours this color grade took! But, you know what? Our couples are WORTH IT.

  • Before and After – Mandie + Chris // Highlight Reel

I love doing these types of posts. So much goes into each wedding video we post. What many couples don’t realize is that our work is just beginning once their wedding is over. Here’s a little peek into what you get when you book GBVideo.

At GBVideo, we take every aspect of your wedding video very seriously and strive to make it as absolutely perfect as we possibly can. One of the things we do is make sure the the color and style of your video match the mood and style of your wedding. Color can play a big role in how a moment is perceived so we make sure the right message is being portrayed at all times. This process isn’t easy and it takes a long time but it’s worth it because you’re worth it.

We shoot in what’s called a “flat” picture style. This allows us to retain the most possible detail in the shadows and highlight of each frame that we capture. Capturing your wedding this way means we HAVE to color grade your videos (we’d do it anyways), but when we do we have more latitude than if we were shooting with stock settings on the camera.

We hope you enjoy this comparison!
