  • Gator Fridays :: Orange + Blue Ruffled Clutches

Aloha Gators! Long time no talk? Mr. Knight and I have been beyond busy, working on our day jobs, side jobs, special projects we’ve been wanting to complete (with one very special quilt I’ve been dying to share with y’all), and our new business, Gator Bride Videography. If you missed my post on our new business, you can check it out here, and be sure to view the highlight reel from our first wedding! We’ll be shooting our second wedding this weekend for Marcela + Gabriel and we are SOOO excited. Be sure to join the Gator Bride Videography Facebook page to receive updates!

So, in between all the craziness of the past few months, I managed to make a few adorable little orange and blue ruffled clutches. Check them out↓

I’m in love with them. I even made some for Gator Mom and Momma Knight. Sewing is so relaxing. Well, it’s only relaxing if you have made the same pattern several times and you no longer have to actually “think” about what you’re doing, but just do it. :)

Since I have a few extras of these little clutches, I’ve listed them in my shop. These are perfect for the Gator Girl or Gator Bride in your life. And who doesn’t love a one-of-a-kind handmade piece? Okay, so maybe it’s two-of-a-kind. But, you know what I mean.

Check them out and be sure to favorite my shop if you love love love orange and blue clutches. I plan to add more this summer, just in time for Football season. Yay!!

  • New Shop Item :: “CHOMP On” Poster!

I’m so excited to show y’all the newest item up in the shop! Every time I look at it I get all happy and giddy inside. And I think I’m not the only one, as Mr. Knight has already commissioned a print for his office. :)

When the going gets rough – say you’re having a rough day, you have so many tests/exams/projects due you think you’ll never survive (an often thought if you’re an architecture major), or it’s that one time a decade the Gators have a not-so-stellar game, you just have to “Keep CALM and CHOMP on.”

“Keep CALM and CHOMP On” Print, framed all nice and pretty over my desk.

Can’t help but love it’s orange and blue, bright, gator-ness staring right at me while I work. Everyone needs a little orange and blue to brighten up their day.  :)

  • Weddings Here and Away :: Website Redesign

Everyone loves a little “before & after” action, am I right?

A few months ago, Andrea of Weddings Here and Away contacted me about designing and building a website for her destination wedding planing business based in Oregon and Hawaii. I jumped at the opportunity to design a website and learn the backend of making a WordPress powered website (with lots and LOTS of help from Mr. Knight).

Check out the before and after:

    Weddings Here and Away

This is just one of the many many things Mr. Knight and I have been up to these past few months. When I started my little Etsy shop, Gator Bride Designs, I had no idea I would be doing anything beyond designing custom wedding stationary for Brides. I’ve had a great time putting together custom table signs, water bottle labels, holiday party invitations, and so much more for my sweet Brides, but I had no idea my skills would spill over into web design. It’s been a tough road, for sure, but I’ve learned so much along the way.

It’s funny where life takes you and the opportunities you are presented with. Who knew just doing a fun little blog for our friends would turn into a fun side job?

By the way, anyone notice anything different about  the Gator Bride blog design? Maybe a little Santa hat? Yup! The cake topper representation of Mrs. Gator has been Santa-fied! I love decorating for the holidays, and extending my holiday decor to the blog seemed like the next step of out of control holiday decorating. :)
